Edelmetall war zum Greifen nah, doch am Ende müssen wir uns mit der so genannten “Holzmedaille“ und Platz vier zufrieden geben. Es ist schon erstaunlich, wie schnell die Zeit vergeht. Da bereiten wir uns drei Jahre auf dieses Ereignis vor, und jetzt ist alles schon wieder vorbei. Dennoch werden die XXIX. Olympischen Spiele für uns ein unvergessliches Erlebnis bleiben. August 17, 2008 - Qingdao produced a high-energy action-packed race course for the Yngling medal race course today with a low pressureweather pattern and a high pressure points scenario! Beijing 2008

Our lay day was yesterday and it turned out to be just that…a LAY day. We spent our day lying down, doing laundry, writing postcards and recharging our batteries. Hans Sendes, our trusty leader, took us out to have dinner in our local favorite restaurant in the evening and we all turned in early. The point spread is so close that we had to collect our energy to start what basically amounts to a brand new regatta today. We were only 4 points away from the bronze medal position yesterday!
